Don't follow your heart -- lead it. When you are just dealing With the feeling you are feeling And you think you can't resist When your energy is spent And you wonder where all goodness went And you doubt that God really does exist. When you think, "I am only a mortal" Can you hear Satan chortle As you feel so helpless inside? When you think of all the pain That is like incessant rain Raising now the ocean of life's tide Let me tell you what to do For the experience is not new But you must do it before the feelings start. It has to do with your present condition (Which if it follows this admonition) Will teach the art of the keeping of your heart For each of us has a heart and a soul And we can always each one control If we do what Jesus has said For the heart follows each investment (you see) So choose to invest both money and time and Œtwill be That your heart will follow your head. So, think of your children, your wife and home. Spend time together; think of them when alone And you will find your heart will faithful remain. Think of God, heaven and the family of God And until you leave this earthly sod Your lips will speak of gratitude and never will complain. June 30,2001
