A YEAR TO REMEMBER Have you ever known a HERO One of greatness and of power, One who was great his whole life through And not for just one hour? One who could rise to each challenge There was nothing he could not handle, And of his private life we now know There was not a hint of scandal. Yet, if you look within the book That the county clerk does keep, And if you wanted to find your hero's name If they let you take a peek, You would only find three entries For each person gets the same The date of birth, the date of death And, of course, their name. So now we read about the year When King Uzziah died We are not told about the tears That the young prophet cried We can not measure the sorrow Caused by the death of Isaiah's king We can not know the pain he knew Nor of deathıs awful sting But we know what we have felt When our Hero was laid to rest. We know how empty life became When the world had lost its best. Isaiah tells us That then it was, When he laid his hero beneath the sod, That He could see so clearly then The greatness of his God Thus may it be for you and me When we loose the one we love dearly That God will give us a view of Him Through tears may we see Him Clearly Dr. G.H.
